Manage forwarding targets

Use Forwarding targets to save phone numbers for people and teams. Select them for manual forwarding or import them into a forwarding tool. You need the relevant permissions to make changes.

Add a destination

Open Forwarding targets, create a name such as Service team, enter its E.164 phone number and set whether it is enabled. Use distinct, recognizable names and verify the number with a controlled test.

Enabled targets can be selected for manual live forwarding. If a target changes while a forwarding dialog is open, refresh the selection and review the current destination before retrying.

Import targets into a tool

In a forwarding tool's target editor, use the directory import action and choose the targets to copy. Review name conflicts and save the tool.

Import copies the selected names and numbers into the tool. If a number changes later in the directory, update it in the affected tools too.

Keep the directory current

Disable a target when it should no longer be offered for manual handoff. Review tool copies separately. Before deleting a destination, check how your team uses it and update the corresponding prompts or tools where needed.

Use a fixed destination for predictable handoffs. If a tool allows dynamic numbers, define their trusted source explicitly in the tool instructions.
