Prompt templates¶
Start with a complete template for your Voice Agent. Each template includes setup instructions, a Persona, a greeting and a copyable system prompt covering the conversation, pronunciation and failure cases.
Choose a template¶
| Template | Use it to | Required setup |
|---|---|---|
| Callback intake | Collect a request, confirm the number and pass it to your team | Fact storage, end call and post-call delivery |
| Knowledge answers | Answer questions about services, opening hours and procedures | Knowledge Base and end call |
| Reception and transfer | Connect the right team and record a callback if the connection fails | Conference forwarding, fixed destinations and callback delivery |
| Service request intake | Record an IT issue and submit it as a ticket | API tool for your ticketing system and end call |
The example assistant is Nuvo. The examples use the fictional car dealership NuvoCar Autohaus and IT service provider NuvoSys. Replace the company details with your own.
Which field should I use?¶
| Content | Location |
|---|---|
| Name, company, form of address and tone | Persona in the Agent settings |
| First spoken sentence | Greeting in the Agent settings |
| Task, questions, confirmations and allowed actions | System prompt |
| Prices, services and company policies | Connected Knowledge Base |
| Special pronunciation for a name or term | Pronunciation for the selected voice |
| Summary and delivery after the call | Post-processing profile |
Each complete system prompt starts with {persona} in its Persona block. This keeps identity and tone in one place. In an Agentic Flow, you can use a shared Persona.
Pronunciation is included¶
The system prompts cover phone numbers, postal codes, codes, email addresses, amounts, dates, times, names and abbreviations. They also explain when details need confirmation and how Nuvo should handle corrections.
Phone numbers keep their original written form in the output text. Add a special pronunciation for a name such as Nuvo only when you have deliberately chosen it. Test with your voice and add a pronunciation rule if needed.
Adapt it to your workflow¶
- Choose a template and copy the Persona, greeting and system prompt into their respective fields.
- Adapt the company details and form of address. If you change how the Agent addresses callers, update the direct questions in the system prompt too.
- Connect the tools or knowledge sources listed on the template page.
- Test a successful conversation as well as missing details, corrections and failures.
- Check both spoken answers and actual results, such as saved facts or receipt by your team.
Use the cases on each template page to test with your model and voice. For more guidance, see Write a system prompt and Test your Agent.
